Flower Essence Pick of the Month Black-Eyed Susan by Lesley Bonisteel This wild flower grows all over North America in waste places, road sides, fields, wherever it can get lots of sun. The flowerhead consists of 10 to 20 yellow, daisylike, ray of petals surrounding a chocolate brown center. It is the essence to use when working on problems, Black-Eyed Susan helps us to look at underlying causes of our issues and bring new awareness. It enables us to see that which we may not want to admit on the conscious level. Try using this essence before going into a counseling session or before examining a problem to enable you to clearly see your part. Black-Eyed Susan helps when there is resistance at looking at emotions. Associated with the planet Uranus, Black-Eyed Susan might be indicated when experiencing a Uranus transit or when dealing with issues related to the energies of this planet. Uranus represents originality and unconventionality. This can be both the unusual and brilliant genius or the willful rebel without a cause. It tells us the areas in which we break with convention, become innovative and experiment with new and exciting ways. If you have any question about the Black-Eyed Susan Essence or any other Clear Path Essence feel free to contact us at info@clearpathessences.com. Black-Eyed Susan Links:
3. Feature Article: Healer Uses Shamanic Methods to Connect to Higher Energies. by Kate Everson, from The Community Press, February 8, 2002. (Reprinted with permission from the author) The first thing you see when you drive up the long maple-lined driveway is a picturesque century limestone house. A large chocolate Lab greets you with waving tail and wind chimes welcome you at the door. This is the entrance to the home of Monique Allore, her husband, Tony Broek, and their three adorable children, Ellen, Erin and Nathan (who is almost four). Ellen immediately introduces herself, a bright pink bow bobbing on top of her head. Erin shyly says hello with an impish grin, looking much more like an elf or fairy than a real girl. And Nathan, of course, has everything to say about everything! He seriously explains that the huge fireplace isn't a real fireplace until Santa comes down the chimney! Nothing seems quite real in this magical place as I am about to find out. I have an appointment with Monique to talk about what she calls Whole Field Therapy, or intuitive healing. In between acting as mother, she manages to tell me that for two years she has been practicing on her friends and family but is ready to "come out" and offer her services to the world … or at least to clients who will drive to her home, four kilometres west of Tweed! Monique describes her healing method as "Shamanic" using energies from a Universal Source, directed by her Spirit Guide to connect with her client's own higher self. She uses eagle feathers to "sweep the aura," crystals (ethereal and physical) to concentrate energy, and a sacred chant to arouse native spirit energy. As a shaman she also uses breath to pull off unwanted energy and attachments. This method is something that just came to Monique, when she was learning Reiki. "I was doing a healing on someone, when suddenly I felt like I wanted to sniff them," she says. "I looked at the Reiki Master and she said to go ahead. It all unfolded for me during the session. Later I was told, 'You're a shaman!'" For the past two years she has been refining her techniques, and assimilating all her experiences. "I meditated a lot looking for direction," she said, "and developed my own method intuitively. I have guides instructing me and one main guide who comes in when I am doing healing." She says the client's own guides often come in too. She recalls one session when the client's spirit guide, an Indian Chief, came in and instructed her to sit down while he worked on the client. "I sat down!" she laughs. Monique says each healing session is different, as she works intuitively with the client. "I don't have a formula," she states. Sometimes a session will involve past life experiences, revealing problems that have been carried at a cellular level into the client's current lifetime. Monique helps remove these energies and give the client new insight. Another method is working with the electromagnetic grid to raise vibrations. These energy points are a matrix around the Earth, meridian lines through which healing energy can be channeled. Monique says she can stand outside sometimes and feel the energy matrix in the air. "One of my purposes is to link people up to the grid," she explains. "I am not always guided to do it. But sometimes I feel it is needed." She says she uses her "fire-finger" to connect with the person while the other hand is outstretched into the energy matrix, making a connection, like a lightning rod! She adds, "Several guides come in and honour the process. It is a connection to Mother Earth." The use of sound is also very effective in Shamanic healing. Sometimes Monique will start to chant during a session. "It opens us up to the Music of the Spheres," she explains. "Our higher selves are tuned to it all the time, but our physical has been depleted or injured. I reintroduce it to the body." Monique says all her healing work helps connect people to how special they really are. "I want people to be aware of their own radiance," she smiles. "I want them to go away understanding their own magnificence, how powerful they are, to feel connected to their own higher selves." Monique (was) at the Healing Forum in Trenton on March 2 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, from 1 to 4 p.m.; (You may) contact her at home at (705) 478-9955. Q: How long will my essences last? A: The stock bottle of essences that you purchase are preserved in brandy and will last indefinitely provided that they are kept properly. Be careful not to let the dropper touch your mouth and if it does, wash it well to avoid contamination. We recommend storing essences standing upright. This keeps the essence from coming in contact with the rubber dropper bulb and eliminates the rubber taste the essences can get over time. Healing Stone Massage Training Provided by Stone Temple Body Instutute - Carollanne Crichton (Presented by Cindilee Ecker-Flag) Many massage practitioners and recipients of stone massage describe this healing modality as "five times more relaxing than ordinary massage". Massage promotes relaxation, peace of mind and a sense of well-being. Throughout history documentation of the lineages found in many forms of traditional medicines apply the basic foundation of massage techniques. Massage therapists, reflexologist, Reiki practitioners, acupuncturists, naturopathic physicians and aestheticians are implementing healing Stone Therapy. As you can see there is a number of healing modalities that integrate healing stone massage. Carollanne Crichton of Stone Temple Institute in Essex, Connecticut has dedicated much of her experience and knowledge developing this modality. Healing Stone Massage integrates the application of thermo therapy using stones in a clinical setting such as chiropractic, massage clinics and home based business settings using healing modalities. Healing stone therapists are educated in the science and physics of geomagnetism, geology and thermo therapy. Individuals are taught how to locate and work with igneous and metamorphic stones. The selection of stones with specific sculptural shapes for body placements is chosen. The therapist fits a stone into the contours of the body such as a neck roll, triangular sacrum stone or heart shaped stone for the heart area. Client safety, sanitation, hygiene and equipment understanding of stone temperatures is deeply integrated within the therapist. This provides a healing stone massage that provides the client with the best and highest well being. Since the stones are the foundation of the earth the electromagnetism of charged ions can be found in every particle of the earth. "Essentially we are human batteries, surrounded and animated by an electromagnetic force field which potentates and normalizes our systems through the infinite ion exchange process." Therefore when an individual is under stressful conditions many chemicals and hormones are released and these alter the ionic matrix of the electromagnetic field producing excessive positive ions. The direct application of heated stones in combination with skilled bodywork techniques can have a beneficial effect on the detoxification systems, lymphatic circulation, peripheral circulation and the nervous and endocrine system. What makes the stones used in this massage stand apart have several features? They are sea-smoothed and highly sculptural. We select them with an eye to specific contours of the human body. For instance, we see a sacrum, or a heart, or a liver shaped stone and we sense that this is exactly what this stone is for. Likewise, we select comfortable, cylindrically shaped stones for our neck rolls, or, more gently gradient, sloped stones as occipital wedges for the client with a smaller reverse curve of the cervical spine. Each and every one of our stones is hand picked, hand washed, hand paired (in the case of the spinal layouts which come in pairs) and then tested right on the massage table for comfort BEFORE we call it a Healing Stone Massage Stone Kit! Also, our stones come from the Canadian Shield and the Scotia Shelf, which is the oldest rock formation on the planet. they have been assessed by the USGS to be over 500 million years old, and to contain the highest concentrations of ore. this iron ore is what makes a stone a natural permanent magnet, and also is what allows it to gently radiate its warmth for up to 40 minutes per application. You will notice the difference instantly if you compare these to common basalt and river stone. River stone and most basalt contain high silica and lava (which is actually volcanic glass) and tends to spike up to a hot temperature very quickly, but also tends to cool as quickly. it is for this reason that we recommend these stones be used only for massage of the surface anatomy and that they be kept in constant motion to avoid burning. Our stones are used primarily in the Foundation Layout protocol which is developed to promote nurturing and soothing, rather than stimulation and increased energy. For this reason, a warm radiant heat is preferred.
